Frank and Tara are extra special to me because Tara and I have known each other since junior high school. Getting to photograph such close friends and one of my favorite couples during their Kansas City engagement session made this experience incredibly meaningful and reminded me why I love being a Kansas City wedding photographer…. capturing the genuine love stories of the couples I’m lucky enough to know.

We started the engagement photography at Loose Park, exploring some of my favorite spots in the park, including the beautifully shaped tree with branches that twist and stretch in every direction. It’s one of my favorite locations for engagement photos because it creates such a unique framing around the couples with it’s branches. We also spent time in the rose garden, which is always a classic favorite for both engagement sessions and weddings.

From there, we headed to Unity Village, where the fountains, elegant architecture, and peaceful gardens gave the session an almost European feel. Between the stunning scenery, the laughter we shared, and the gorgeous sunset that wrapped up the evening, it was one of those sessions none of us wanted to end.
